EFEC Unsoed's PPK Conducts Training on Bandol Product Manufacturing - The Banaran Creative Hub community and the Ormawa PPK team (Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program) from EFEC Unsoed Purwokerto successfully organized a training on the production of products made from "bandol" (used tires) on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. The training took place at the Meeting Hall of RT 04 RW 01, Pasir Kidul Village, West Purwokerto Subdistrict.
Banaran is the nickname for RW 01 of Pasir Kidul Village, given by the community because it has been a center for Bandol (products made from used tires) since the 1930s.
The leader of the student team, Luthfiyyah, stated that the training aimed to teach participants how to create bandol products, including trash cans, swings, and vehicle spare parts made from bandol.
"With guidance from experienced tutors, Syamsu and Kistam, the training participants are provided with practical knowledge and skills in the production of these products," she said.
As part of the event, Mintoro, the speaker, provided an interesting and informative overview of the history and origins of bandol products. This presentation provided deeper context and understanding of the importance of the skills taught in this training.
This training is part of the efforts of the Banaran Creative Hub community and the Ormawa PPK team at Unsoed to empower the local community, create a more sustainable environment through the reuse of bandol, and also rediscover the history of Bandol itself.
It is hoped that through this training, participants can apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired to create quality products from bandol and contribute to the development of the local economy without leaving behind the history behind the process.
