HOW IS HALLOWEEN CELEBRATED AROUND THE WORLD??

    October is known for Halloween celebrations. Halloween is one of the oldest holidays in the world which is celebrated on October 31 every year. The term Halloween means “hallowed evening”, an evening to remember the deceased. Previously, Halloween was only celebrated by the United States and Ireland, but today, Halloween is widely celebrated in a number of countries around the world.

    Every country has its own unique tradition of celebrating Halloween. Let's go for a world tour of traditions around the scariest celebration ever!!.

1. Ireland 

    The Irish celebrate Halloween live by lighting fires under the sky and wearing unique scary costumes. while also collecting treats such as snacks, chocolates or candy from neighbors.
      Halloween is believed to have first been celebrated in Ireland as Samhain — evil spirits visited the land of the living during pagan festivals and people would light bonfires and wear various kinds of costumes to ward off these spirits.
          Barmbrack, is a special Halloween dessert in the form of a fruit cake dedicated to this event. The cake contains something like a piece of cloth, a ring, a pea or a straw, which indicates the future of the person who eats the piece of cake. For those who find a ring on the part of the cake they ate it means they are getting married, for those who get a straw it signifies the auspicious year is near.

          In Japan, there are Tokyo cosplay parades to celebrate Halloween. In big cities like Tokyo, teens and adults wear all sorts of costumes from their favorite game, comic, and movie characters to go party in the street and participate in parades. 

          3.Mexico

          "Día de los Muertos" or "Day of the Dead" is a world-famous Halloween celebration that originated in Mexico.

          At this festival people dance to the beat of mariachi music and dress up like their ancestors. It is believed that the spirits of the dead visit during the Día de los Muertos. Mexicans go out of their way to prepare scrumptious feasts and build altars where gifts like skull-shaped candy and tequila are served.

          4. Scotland
          Scotland has a unique ritual to celebrate Halloween by throwing peanuts into a fire which is believed to be able to answer questions. If the beans are roasted without crackling on the fire, you will have a happy relationship. Otherwise, you won't get married right away.

          Halloween in Scotland begins with the Celtic Samhuinn Festival, which marks the end of the harvest season. In addition, traditions such as trick-o-treating and carving jack-o'-lanterns are believed to have originated from this ancient festival.

          5. Hongkong

          The Hungry Ghost Festival is also known as Zhongyuan Festival or Yulan Festival is a way for Hong Kong people to celebrate Halloween. in that celebration many people give out offerings for the visiting spirits of their ancestors to appease them, including ceremonial victuals, burned incense, joss paper and hell money. People also burn carefully crafted origami that are made to resemble everything from designer clothes and bags to fast food and electronics, so don't worry if you smell burning around town.
